These are large drawings, showing gaps, large expanses of white paper with a central motive or a drawing which connects one side of the paper/expanse to the other. Gaps, spaces, ravines, rivers.
I am trying to connect, make sense of the space. The marks are loops that mimic writing, words knitted together. They are not words or letters but marks that mimic joined up writing. Lots of non words crammed into a space, being hidden, squashed or exposed. As a child I had undiagnosed Dyslexia and felt ashamed, these drawings are about coming to terms with that. Sometimes celebrating it, sometimes squashing or hiding it.
